Hey y’all, I’m Katelyn.
With a quick skimming of this site, I’m sure you can tell that I wear many hats. I am a birth worker, a cook, a researcher, and a believer. I’m also the creator behind Warred for Wellness, but you are the heart of it! However you landed here, I’m so glad you did! If you’re wondering how this collective of ideas and information came about, let me tell you -
If you name it, I’ve dealt with it. A few items on that less-than-fun list are:
Type 1 Diabetes
Seizures
IgG deficiency
Childhood trauma
Eating disorders
Depression
Gut dysbiosis
Severe cystic acne
It’s taken years, and plenty of trial and error, to come to the understanding of what actually supports the body and encourages healing. I tried the juices, attempted a plant-based diet, bought all the skincare, saw every doctor, did the sleep-studies, took every prescription, and that scroll could keep rolling if I allowed it to. I’ll stop there, because what I believe in now is what matters.
I believe wellness to be a four-fold experience - emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. I don’t believe that one facet can be in alignment without the others also being in alignment. In a nutshell, if one aspect of our health is out of whack, the rest of it might be, too.
Our minds, and nervous systems, require internal and external support.
Our bodies require minerals and nutrients (and dare I say, animal meat).
Our emotions require us to address them.
Our spirits require a relationship with their Creator.
All of those points were originated from a God-given vision that gave me the name, “Warred for Wellness”. I had a dream of a sword, and it was mine, but I had to pick it up and fight with it. On top of the handle laid an olive branch. A heavy juxtaposition exists between something as final as the sword, and as delicate as the olive branch, but they share a connection as they are both a means to peace. For the past few years, I have had to go to war for my wellness - my body demanded it and I deserve it. You do too. With that being said, it’s my honor to equip you to war for your wellness, as well!

My information comes from years of trial and error with my own body and illnesses, as well as a plethora (and many days, overload) of research. I do my best to cite at least one reference in many of my Instagram posts or stories that might be deemed as controversial, so you have another resource to consider when it comes to heavier topics. I also highly encourage each of my clients and followers alike to do their own research, and follow the Holy Spirit in discernment of such topics for their own bodies and households!

At this point, the HTMA is the only lab test I have done significant research and education on how to interpret and use effectively with my clients. I definitely hope to be able to offer more down the road though!

Root cause might be a buzzword that you hear quite a bit around the wellness community, or it might just be something you’re frustrated by from searching for it for so long! I take a root cause approach by helping you to dig past your symptoms, and working to find out why they’re occurring in the first place. For example, you might be experiencing spotting before or during your cycle, and I want to help you find the real answer as to what’s causing that to be the case.

I firmly believe that one of the most important factors of overall wellness is stepping away from diet culture. That’s why you won’t find any fad diets where my content or creations are concerned - no keto, no Whole30, and absolutely no vegan over here. My recipes are inspired by the work of Dr. Ray Peat, along with tid-bits of Ayurvedic knowledge, and of course, my southern roots. I focus largely on bioavailability of a food, meaning those that your body is capable of utilizing as intended and responding to best, in order to encourage optimal health.

Due to the nature and format of my offerings, they are not returnable, but I have full confidence you will love them as much as I do!
